Valerie McDougle, MS, LMHP
Valerie McDougle, MS, LMHP, became interested in behavioral health while working as a family support worker and becoming a foster parent at age 23. “I believe God chose me to serve others,” said McDougle, a counselor with the Best Care Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
She’s particularly interested in helping people affected by domestic violence or chronic illness, and she enjoys helping clients facing women’s issues.
“I value and accept each client as they are,” McDougle said. “By using kindness, respect, honesty and unconditional positivity, I hope to collaborate with clients to help them meet their goals.”
As a part of Methodist’s team of counselors, she’s proud to incorporate The Meaning of Care into her approach.
“It means being patient, kind and flexible to the needs of others,” she said. “It means educating myself on the populations I serve with a willingness to learn and grow.”
McDougle spent over 20 years as a foster parent, and she loves spending time with her three adult daughters and several grandchildren. She also enjoys spending time with her dog, traveling and taking in music and theater.
